August 2007 Update - Cincinnati, Here We Come!

IT'S OFFICIAL! WE ARE 30 AND JEREMY HAS A REAL JOB!!!!

On August 16th Jeremy signed a contract with a radiology group in Cincinnati - the decision is made and the end is in sight! We are really excited about the next step, about making a life in Cincinnati, and to be done with residency. It's hard to believe that only 10 months remain of the 13 year process to get here, but we have (mostly) enjoyed the journey and appreciate very much the support of our family and friends. We have begun to research schools and neighborhoods and are narrowing down the areas in which we'd like to live. We'll keep you posted.... The group he has joined is a fairly small one, he will make 6, and they cover 2 hospitals (one in his hometown and one in downtown Cinci) as well as 2 out-patient imaging centers. They are a very professional and well-respected group and we feel really good about partnering with them. He has signed a 2 year contract as an employee and after that he will be eligible to become a partner.

In other news, Kaelyn started 2nd grade on August 13th. She is in a 2/3 combo in which they are teaching mostly 3rd grade curriculum. This year may be more of a challenge for her and she may require more homework help, but she loves her teacher and will enjoy learning lots of new things.

Bella will return to her "school" next week, aka Mom's Day Out. She will be in the oldest class this year and with a wonderful teacher. They will be teaching and reinforcing letters, numbers, shapes, colors, and basic handwriting...and having lots of fun!

Jeremy and I are spending lots of time talking about and planning for the future. We are also getting involved again at church, me with the elementary kids and him with the worship band. He is also very much enjoying the increased time off since he is now the upper level resident and has very few on-calls. After Jan. 1 he'll have no call...until he starts his real job on July 1!
